CV: | Shannon Daly, DNP, MSN-Ed, RN Associate Professor of Nursing Work Email Address: Shannon.daly@mga.edu Phone number (office): 478.934.3040 Teaching Philosophy As an associate professor of nursing, I am committed to helping students grow into confident, compassionate, and skilled healthcare professionals. I strive to create a supportive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels seen, respected, and empowered to succeed and reach their fullest potential. My teaching is rooted in real-world nursing practice, current research, and a deep belief in the power of education to change lives. I recognize that each student’s journey is unique, and I work to meet them where they are by offering guidance, encouragement, and structure as they build their knowledge and confidence. Whether through classroom instruction, mentorship, or one-on-one support, I aim to ensure students leave my courses prepared to lead, care, and continue learning throughout their careers. A core component of my teaching approach is integrating real-world nursing experiences and current research into the classroom so students can see how what they are learning applies to everyday practice. Each lecture and clinical encounter are strategically designed to provide students with a memorable and meaningful takeaway that strengthens understanding and supports long-term retention. Above all, my goal is to inspire a passion for nursing and a commitment to excellence within my students. Helping students succeed in school, in their careers, and as lifelong learners is what drives me. I want them to leave my classroom not only with strong clinical judgement skills, but with the confidence to lead, the curiosity to keep learning, and the passion to care deeply. Research Interests Leadership approaches that support faculty success and enhance student learning, and the use of statistical testing and data analysis to identify evidence-based strategies that improve student retention of course content and academic outcomes.
